Allana Ferguson reveals she had to take a break from IVF

Soon to be mum-of-two Allana Ferguson is beyond excited to be welcoming her new bundle into the world soon, but admits her pregnancy journey second time around has been tough.

The Nine's Sunday Footy Show panelist and NRL commentator, revealed to 9Honey Parenting that her experience with IVF was much harder this time and she and husband Guy McDermott were terrified it wouldn't work.

"Particularly towards the end, we were both sort of questioning a little bit, you know, just trying to be grateful that we had one child and getting our head around maybe not being able to have two," she shared.

She called it a 'tricky process' and admitted that it got so overwhelming for her that she needed to take a break.

"I just wanted to get my mindset, right, I get summer off work. So we spent that time just with our friends and socialising and just to have a bit of a breather really, because it can be pretty consuming," the mum said.

The break was crucial in helping Ferguson delve back into the process feeling more prepared.

"It taught me that you've got to be in the right mindset and be persistent and just sort of trust the process and you'll get that in the end," she told 9Honey Parenting.

She also shared a few other things that were essential in helping her get through the tough time.

"Just being open and honest with our IVF specialists," she added "I needed my husband like my best friend then next to me the whole way so it was still an amazing thing to go through together."
