Getting attached to a family dog is just normal. Especially if they’ve been with you through a lot of special events in your life.
Meet Daisy
Daisy has been a special part of the Skelton family. According to her owner, Katrina Skelton, “She was our first baby! She was the best dog ever.”
She Witnessed Milestones
Katrina said, “We got Daisy when she was 12 weeks old before we had Jackson. She was gentle, loving, and patient. She was with us through 2 pregnancies, 2 toddlers, and 3 different homes.”
Daisy Went Missing
The Skelton family was heartbroken when Daisy went missing three years ago.
Katrina Is Still Hopeful
Even if years have already passed, Katrina would still check the microchip website from time to time to see if there had been any recent scans.
Someone Found Daisy
In January 2022, a woman from Marion, Indiana named Tiffany Clay found a medium-sized, reddish dog by her back door.
She Scanned The Dog
Tiffany took the dog to the vet to get scanned for a microchip. When she learned that her name was Daisy and she had a previous owner, Tiffany immediately called Katrina to tell them that she’s found her dog.
1,100 Miles Away
Katrina said, “Mark and I immediately were like, ‘Okay, we’re going to Indiana this weekend, like, find a babysitter for our kids, and we’re making (a) 16-hour drive to go get our dog because she was our first baby’.”
A Touching Reunion
When Daisy saw them, she greeted the Skeltons calmly at first, but when Mark removed his hat, Daisy instantly recognized her owners, barking in excitement and snuggling her humans.
