Aussie community spirit is like no other, and it's great to see that spirit live on within local youth.
One Aussie mum has shared how her "heart cannot deal" after a local teenage boy knocked on the door and offered her some help.
In a TikTok video, mum-of-three Jasmine said a young teenage boy wearing a wide-brimmed Bunnings hat had knocked on her door asking if he could mow her lawn in exchange for $20. Jasmine happily agreed, and even made her three young kids watch out the window while he worked so they could "learn some life (skills)".
"If my children aren't like this at his age, I want a refund please," she joked.
Jasmine also looked on as the boy mowed her lawn. "What a good boy!" she squealed, adding in her caption, "He's not even my child but I'm so proud of him."
Commenters were also impressed with the teen's work ethic.
"His parents raised him well, what a good young man," said one, while another wrote, "Well done you for rewarding his initiative".
"Sis it starts now with your kids, if your kids aren't like that then it comes down to your parenting," said one person in response to Jasmine's quip.
Other shared their own memories of earning pocket money, one writing, "I used to do this when younger, good to see it still happening."
"My mums neighbour was like this, he did several yards every weekend, saved up and bought a ride on to increase his business before he was 17," shared another.
"My niece made so much money mowing lawns and everyone gave her drinks and lollies she was so happy," said one aunt.
"They don't make them like this anymore," remarked one commenter. "This it the hope for the future!!" added another.
