80-Year-Old Dog Grave Was Found By Walking Guy In Teary Moment

Some dogs spend their whole life doing good things for human life. And when they pass away, people never forget their dedication. That is the story of Buddie, a deceased dog whose grave has recently been found in Kiroli Park, West Monroe, Louisiana.

The grave was spotted by Zach Medlin, who was walking his dog along the park. The man told he noticed something that looked like a stone underneath fallen leaves and pine needles. His dog, Serena, seemed to be completely invited by the swimming ducks in a nearby lake and chasing them. Meanwhile, the man just cared about the stone.

After some time finding a way to uncover it, he finally saw the stone with his eyes and couldn’t believe what he saw.

“The inscription was covered by some pine straw,” Medlin told The Dodo. “So I had to move the pine straw out of the way to read what the grave marker had to say.”

“Buddie, 1928 — 1941. Born a dog / Died a gentleman.”

A dog grave, 80 years old, had been lying in a 160-acre public park. The touching inscription made him burst into tears. He could understand how much love and affection the family had had for Buddie, their great dog.

Later, he heard Buddie’s story from a local legend. The dog worked as the mascot of a summer camp for the Boy Scouts. One day, a boy started to drown while he was swimming in the lake. Buddie noticed that and started barking to call the other Scouts, who saved his life.

However, another source explained a different story. Research by Lora Peppers came up with an opposite finding.

“According to Mrs. Dee Strickland, the dog belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Jones, 215 Breard St., Monroe. Mrs. Strickland lived with the Jones [family] in 1932. The dog was a beautiful Irish setter. Mr. Jones frequently took him to Kiroli Park to run, so when he died, he decided to bury him in Kiroli Park,” she wrote on Findagrave.com

Buddie is still lying in Kiroli Park. If you go to the park one day, don’t forget to visit him!
