It’s a fact that when we buy fruits we mainly rely on how they look, but what you may not know is that with every bite of that picture-perfect you ingest something you don’t want to.
In order to extend the shelf life of apples for example, manufacturers spray a coat of wax onto them. You may not be able to see it or even taste it, and washing the apple doesn’t take it off, but pour boiling water over it and suddenly they don’t look so appetizing.
